NextGen Kids Policies

Attendance

Attend the after school program every regular school day during the calendar school year.

 

* Students must attend the academic portion of the program (ending at 3:15) to be considered present. If students are signed out prior to 3:15 due to transportation or medical appointment, please use appropriate code when signing out your child to avoid incurring a removal point.

*Students who attend the regular school day but fail to attend the program without cause may be issued an attendance violation or removal point.

*After three (3) attendance violations or removal points, students may be removed from the program and will need to reapply.

*Each unexcused absence may receive 1 removal point.

Sign-Out & Late Pick-Up

All students must be signed out by 6:00 PM* daily.  Students who remain after sign-out time will accrue removal points. 

*All individuals (including parents and guardians) approved to sign out students must be 18 years or older and listed on registration forms.

*Program staff may request ID to verify names listed on registration cards; please be prepared to show ID.

*Incomplete or failure to sign out is a violation of the attendance policy and may result in 1 removal point.

 

 

* 5:00 PM during Fall, Spring, or Summer intersession

** Law enforcement may be contacted for late pick-ups occurring 30 minutes or later. If a student accrues three (3) removal points, they may be removed from the program.

Student Conduct

Removal points will be accrued throughout the year for ongoing incidents in violation of the NextGen Kids Student Conduct Policy. A total of three (3) removal points issued to one student may result in removal from the program.

It is the intent of NextGen Kids to provide all students a safe learning environment.

Students who engage in violations of the student conduct policy will be subject to the appropriate consequences; which may apply to both regular and afterschool program participation. NextGen Kids recommend that parents review and recognize the importance of school regulations by discussing them with their children.

Student Incident Reports may be issued to your child to document a student conduct violation. Program removal points may also be issued as determined by the frequency and level of misbehavior.

 

Student incident report is generated that may result in 1 removal point being accrued for the following:

  • Profanity

  • Disruptive behavior

  • Physical contact

  • Reckless behavior

  • Unsafe behavior

  • Other school rule violations

Student incident report is generated that may result in 2 removal points being accrued for the following:

  • Bullying or threatening

  • Harassment

  • Vandalism

  • Leaving without permission

  • Racism

  • Theft

  • Fighting

  • Program disruption

  • Other school or education code violations included in EC 48900

 

Student incident report is generated that may result in 3 removal points being accrued and recommendation for student removal from the program.

  • Controlled or illegal drugs and/or substances

  • Weapons or dangerous objects

  • Violence with injury

  • Sexual Harassment

  • Other school or education code violations included in EC 48900

Parents, Guardians, and Visitors

NextGen Kids is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and productive environment for students, staff, and the community. We expect parents, guardians, and visitors to behave respectfully and courteously at all times to ensure a positive learning atmosphere and mutual respect. We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to upholding these standards.

In accordance with Penal Code 626.7, the program principal or designee may request that any individual who is causing a disruption, including exhibiting volatile, hostile, aggressive, or offensive behavior, immediately leave school grounds. Individuals who are non-compliant with this policy may be issued a temporary stay-away order.
